14 DAYS Gorilla Chimpanzee and Masai Mara Tour Kenya Uganda and Rwanda

Arrival at Entebbe Airport (EBB) and meet with a Uganda driver guide who will enlighten you about the 14-day tour. Drive for about 45 minutes to Kampala and early arrivals may include a visit to Ndere cultural centre for cultural entertainment.

Pick up by your driver and transfer to Kibale National Park (KNP) to enjoy the best of Uganda chimpanzee trekking adventure. Spend from 2 to 6 hours driving from Kampala-Mityana-Mubende town to Fort Portal city and you will make a stopover at the tea farms, then lunch break at the restaurant in Fort Portal. Continue to Bigodi wetland for 2-3 hours guided walk through the forest, look for primates, birds and flora.

Pick up from the lodge and you will be briefed at Kanyanchu visitors centre, get enlightened on what to do and not to on chimpanzee trekking. The real trek begins at 8:00am with the park guide leading you taking 2-4 hours but this includes one hour for a close encounter.

Kibale National Park –KNP in Uganda contains other wildlife besides chimps and will be spotted during the chimpanzee trek including l’hoest monkeys, blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, baboons and more. Retreat from your chimpanzee adventure and you will have lunch and later proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Today will reward you with a memorable big game encounter along Kasenyi Plains. A guided game drive in this sector, the possible sightings include the cape buffaloes, elephants, antelopes, warthogs, lions, leopards, hyenas and many birds. In the afternoon, transfer to Kazinga channel for a boat cruise 2 hours experience with a chance to encounter hippos, crocodiles and water birds.

Start your wildlife journey to Ishasha sector in the Southern side of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Spend a short time at Ishasha looking for the tree climbing lions and later, have a picnic lunch before you connect to Bwindi National Park.

Depart for actual gorilla trekking starting with briefing from an experienced park official. The normal gorilla trek takes 2-6 hours and includes one hour observing how gorillas behave. The park guide will be present to interpret to you the unique body gestures displayed by the gorillas. Begin moving back to the lodge after the one hour of a magical encounter and later in the afternoon, you will be part of the Batwa cultural experience.

Set off from Bwindi Southwestern Uganda and cross through Chanika/Katuna border to Rwanda. You will have lunch at Musanze and continue to Iby’Iwacu cultural village to explore more about Rwandese distinct cultures and traditions.

Wake up early for breakfast and proceed to Kinigi for briefing on golden monkey tracking guidelines. Today’s primate trek will be for you to search for the golden monkeys in the wild and this begins at 8:00 am, taking about 2-5 hours. Once you come across a troop of golden monkeys, you will have a close interaction with them and taking photography. After, return and enjoy lunch then proceed with afternoon visit at the Twin Lakes –Lake Ruhondo and Burera.

Have breakfast and after, you will be picked up by your Rwanda guide. Travel from Musanze to Kigali for city tour and this includes visiting Kigali memorial center, Kimironko market and craft centers.

Pick up and transfer to Kigali Airport for departure to Nairobi for your Kenya safari tour. You will have a relaxed afternoon at the Boma Hotel Nairobi, Kenya or go tour the giraffe center for early arrivals.

Depart early for Maasai Mara Reserve lying in the far Northwestern part of Kenya, 6 hours’ drive. Located in Narok County, Maasai Mara will reward you with the best of African wildlife encounters and today, you will have an afternoon game drive.

Wake up early, have a leisurely breakfast and you will embark on a full day game drive. Expect to sight a huge concentration of land animals including elands, bushbucks, bat eared fox, elephants, hartebeest, buffaloes, lions, rhinos, leopards, giraffes, cheetahs, and wildebeest.

Embark on the morning game drive to catch up with early risers. Enjoy encounters of huge numbers of large and small mammals, birds –ostriches, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, leopards, cheetahs, and more. You will be visiting the Maasai village to be entertained by drama, dances and cultural music performances.

Leave the lodge for Nairobi and catch up with afternoon/evening flight back home or remain at the hotel.
