Hotel Mille des Collines

Gorilla Statue

Belgian Soldiers’ memorial site
All of the Belgian troops who were protecting President Habyarimana’s wife were slain at this location. Madame Agathe Uwiligiyimana, the then-president’s wife, despised the Tutsi people and was protected by these Belgian soldiers. The gunshot holes at the scene remain, and Madame Agathe was killed alongside the Belgian of the troops.
Nyanza Genocide memorial in kigali city
